This tute will teach you how to make a really cool game.....well i thought it was cool.....it should work....and its not too hard. You should already know how to make a movieclip, the basics in like action script and stuff, making a button.....and stuff.
Ok, I should be doing homework but....isnt this so much cooler?!? Well my good friends....er.....whatever.....here we go these point form instructions will tell you how to make a really fun game where your character will walk through a maze dodging baddies laser walls...(srry, i dont know how to make the dude shoot things...speed and skill r what you need for this game!)

ok...in point form....from the top (deep breath)...

MAKING A MAIN MENU

-Open up flash mx! (start a new window :( )
-First, this may not make sense now but...you'll figure it out later...make an empty square the size of your frame (550x400)...this is your border
-make each edge (left right top and bottem) different movie clips
-name the left ones instance "left"
-right ones instance "right"
-top one "top"
-bottom one will be "bottom" ( i hope you got the pattern by now!)
-these will stay like this for the whole thing so make them the bottem layer on the main timeline
-make a new layer called " backround"
-on this layer make some buttons like a play button and an instruction button
-new layer "actions"
-give the first frame in the actions layer the action

stop();

cool? ok,

INSTRUCTIONS FRAME

do this on frame 2 of the main timeline...
-draw the arrow keys and lable what they do.
-draw the different types of baddies you want in your game and lable them...(like...if you had a skull baddie....name it skully....er somthing crazy original like that)
-put another stop action (the same one as last ) in the actions layer for this frame
-make a "back to menu button" that goes back to the first frame ( the menu frame)
-finally make a third keyframe named "lvl1"...give it the stop action...
-take a quick break and get ready for the real game...
