July 24, 2008—Boston, Massachusetts—A new Flash™ conference, Flash on Tap, launched today which blurs the lines between business and pleasure by combining a Flash design and developer conference with a beer tasting event. The conference creators—Infrared5, Influxis and Red5Server—came together to create this new conference that will raise the bar for code, creativity and frosty beverages. The conference takes place October 7-9, 2008 in Boston at The Castle with hotel accommodations and additional presentations at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel & Towers.

Flash on Tap is organized around main stage speakers and afternoon presentations—all of which take place at The Castle. Mid-day presentations will include repeating small talks providing attendees with information and inspiration around skill-building, technique, professional growth and creativity. Speakers include both designers and developers featuring presentations that cover a full range of topics of interest to both designers and developers. A full list of speakers and their topics can be viewed on the website, www.flashontap.com.

Flash on Tap will also offer four pre-conference workshops for those attendees who wish to take a deep dive into specific Flash topics. The all-day workshops begin at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday October 7, 2008 and end the same day at 5:00 p.m. before the conference kicks off with the opening night reception. The four workshops are: Papervision3D, led by John Grden and Andy Zupko; AS3 for Designers, taught by Rich Shupe; Red5, presented by Dominick Accattato and Paul Gregoire; and Animation for Flash, taught by Chris Georgenes.

To ensure that the quality of the beer matches the quality of the conference content, Flash on Tap has partnered with BeerAdvocate who will curate beers for attendees to sample. BeerAdvocate, led by founders and brothers Jason and Todd Alström, is the world's largest beer community and resource driven by the motto “Respect Beer.” Both the art of brewing and enjoying craft beers—through knowledge, passion, and respect—runs parallel to the path followed by Flash designers and developers.

A limited number of conference passes for Flash on Tap are available for early adopters offering a first-come, first-served price of $495 for the first 100 tickets sold. After the first tickets sell out, pricing will shift to an Early Bird rate of $595 until September 8, 2008 after which time the pricing shifts to $695. For tickets or additional information about Flash on Tap visit www.flashontap.com.
