Default unable to open large flash MX pro.2004 document

I created a LARGE flash document, using MXprofessional 2004,which did begin to struggle, but did open ONCE on completion. I then tried to publish as a windows *exe as my aim was to create an interactive CDrom book(.I have made several in the past with no problem), and it would not publish all the way. Since then I can not open it. It is still reading that it is fla. or flash document. I have tried increasing my paging (virtual memory) file, I copied no saved it to a CD and then tried again to no avail. I deleted many unused programs off my hard drive! No good. I downloaded a free trial of Macromedia director MX as it claimed to be able to handle the larger files, but it claimed the file was corrupt I then downloaded some free file recover programs, but they did not do anything! What else can I do? Has anyone any suggestions! When I try to open I get the first scene OK and my cursor indicates the processor is working for ages and ages but then I get either the message"windows is increasing your paging file virtual meomory to low" or more often "application failed to initialize" with some code in letters and numbers and flas just shuts down! HELP PLEASE! The books I make are Christmas presents for my great neices and nephews and on this particular one I have spent weeks, do I have to throw those weeks away and start from scratch?Tish

    Hi,

I have experienced this a couple of times when loading flash down with 3D calculations. Flash would lock up before I was able to publish. I am not certain what the best solution is. One thing you can try if the file opens in flash is to save the file under a different name. If the file is extremely large and still locks up Flash, your only solution is to break the movie apart into smaller movies and use the loadMovie method to bring in the external content when needed. I've found that using this method will avoid problems like this most of the time. I generally look to break down any movie that is over 500kb into seperate movies.
