Fade looping soundtrack from different level

I have a main .swf on level 0 that contains my 20 second looping soundtrack. I attached the sound by just placing it in a keyframe and assigning it as "start" and "looping" and "fade in."

Level 0 shows the whole time and additional levels load like level 1, level 2, and so forth. On the last level it unloads and goes back to level 0. Because the sound is set to start (so multiple instances don't loop) the sound abruptly stops and sounds awkward.


On that final level I want actionscript to tell my sound on level 0 to fade out. I can't figure it out.

Found workaround using levels. Removed test files.
