Default Transparent BG in a swf, as an app, not html

I am trying to make the background of a swf, including the top panel that says Flash Player on it, transparent. I know how to do this in HTML, but this app is for cd-rom, and would like users not to have this big ugly square holding the shape of what ever is inside.

Is there anyway I can make these parts of the swf invisible?

Here is a picture outlining in red what I am trying to get rid of.

Here are a few apps that don't have it, not 100% sure if there flash made apps though, although the one is an flv player.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

    Hi,

Your first option is to explore the publish settings which allow you to output a flash file with an opaque or transparent background. The next option, especially if this is designed as a desktop app, is to use a third party application such as flashjester or northcode or other to customize the executable version of the program.

    tip on transparent backgounds:

If you've ever tried using DHTML /Ajax in conjuction with flash you will notice that in certain browsers (firefox) - that a flash movie will obstruct a javascript controled element visually. Example a drop down javascript menu will not show over the top of a flash movie.

For some bizare reason using a transparent backgound solves those kind of issues. Flash movies seem to embed harder with transparency. ( i can't tell you why? )

It is for that reason that I use transparent backgounds on a regular basis. If i want a backgound i use a movie clip.

anyway if you ever run across this type of issue remember that.

    It's been a while since i've made a flash standalone ..

but when i did i always used: http://www.multidmedia.com/ zinc (use to be called something else) -- anyway they have alot more built in functions for flash standalone. You can import your flash movies right in there. I know you can do it with that software.. have not tried in flash.
