    Default Flash to ASP

    Hey everyone,
    Someone please help me out...
Here is what I'm trying to do...
I have a simple Flash website, on the "Contact" page, I have 3 fields that people can fill out...
    Name
    Email
    Comments...
Now, how do i get those fields to be sent to an ASP page and sent back to me via email....
In a perfect world, they would go to my site, fill out the info, press "send" and then i should get an email with all the info they just submitted...
My hosting doesnt support php, but they told me that they support asp and even provided me with an asp form...
What i need to know is what actionscript i should use in my flash movie and what do i have to change in the asp page provided by my hosting server...
It seems like it can be relatively easy but I'm kind of new to flash and dreamweaver...
    CAN SOMEONE HELP ME??

    Thanks,
    Confused User

    Hi,

You will probably have to do a googe search on "Flash ASP mailforms", or something similar. I started out programming in Visual Basic....and hated it so I gave it up and decided not to get into programming. I've always loved animation so when I discovered Flash, it renewed my interest. I already knew the ins and outs of HTML and DHTML and some Javascript code bits, but once I found Flash and Actionscript, I jumped back in. As I progressed in Actionscript, I found a need for a backend scripting language. After my experience with Visual Basic and VBscript(which is very similar to ASP), I discovered PHP. The ease and structure of PHP made it much easier for me to learn than ASP so I went in that direction. I can often acheive the same results with a single paragraph of PHP code vs 3 or 4 pages of ASP code to achieve the same goal. It was an easy choice for me as to which langauge I liked better. However, ASP does have the added advantage of having the support of Microsux(obviously not a fan). ASP could allow for Flash interaction more easily with Microsux products than PHP but I have never really researched the topic, just a guess. Here is a google link that might lead you to an ASP flash form...

    hope it helps

Just like you would with any other form. To many make the "common" mistake thinking there is some "special conection" between flash and a "web mail processing script." flash will send the data just like it was coming from an HTML form. any old ASP web mail script will do.
flash is a "client" it does not perform "server side" operatons

in flash you can use LoadVars.send() method post. it's the same for all scripting languages to send webmail.
    search LoadVars.send

    help?

in asp you collect form data like: strTxt=Request.form("txt")
