    Default Annoying problem

    Heya

I constructed a character for animation.
First I drew the parts in flash.
Then I separated them into layers, using cut/paste.
Then I converted them each into symbols for the library.

In some cases I created components in other layers; for example in the Eyes layer I may have made eyes, converted these to a symbol, then made eyebrows, and converted these into another symbol.

As far as I was aware, this shouldn't have caused any problems.

Now I've realised that some layers don't allow me to input any symbols other than the original that was made in that layer.

For example, I have several layers Terrain1, Terrain2 etc.
I have several terrain symbols, but can only put Tree1 into Terrain1, Tree2 into Terrain2 and so on.

    Other things are happening..

If I select the Body (character body) layer, I can insert any symbol except for the Background symbol. If I try to insert this, a body appears instead of a background.

Can someone please tell me why my layers are suddenly so i***exible, and how to fix it?

    Thanks in advance
