    Unhappy Need help! Please...

    Hi everyone I am new here...and I am hoping someone can help me.

    Awhile back, I had seen someone have a short flash intro, and it opened up to their Myspace page...I asked another guy how to do it, and basically he said once I make the project, upload it to a server (which I did) and it will break it down in code. Copy the code and paste it anywhere and it should work. I tried that, but it didn't work. Is there something im doing wrong, or is it impossible to do?

    I don't want the whole Myspace page to be Flash, but I wanted a little intro, so when you click on my page you can see it, then my Myspace page opens up. Can someone help me, if it is possible to do this. I have been wracking my brain but I can't find anyone to help me. At all.

    Thanks guys!

    Hi,

    If all your trying to do is link to your mySpace page from your website, it would simply be a getURL method on the last frame of your into that loads your myspace page...

    last frame of intro...

    stop();
    getURL("http://myspace.com")

    If you have the ability to modify the index.html page of your myspace page, you can embed whatever file you like into the page and then have it link to another.

    Hi NTD,

    What I want, is when you go to my myspace page the first thing you see before my Myspace page opens up, is the intro I made. Then, after the intro is done, my Myspace page appears. So when I had uploaded the intro that I made to my server so it can break down in code, I didn't need to do that? Was I supposed to do something else? And how do you get to the index.html file of my Myspace page?

    Sorry I am being such a pain...im just barely learning this stuff...lol.

    Hi,

    I've never used myspace so I am uncertain of how they operate. If you can modify a web page, it requires editing the HTML index page. If you can edit that page, you can embed a flash file directly into the page. If you can't modify the index.html page for myspace, you wont be able to add external content.

    So when I had uploaded the intro that I made to my server so it can break down in code
    Not sure what you mean here, a server simply interprets the code it reads on a particular page, it doesn't "break down in code" what you would need to embed a file into another page. In fact, HTML and Javascript are browser side languages, which means the browser interprets the code on a page and not the server. The server in those languages acts as a library and simply serves up files.Your best bet would be to contact a myspace rep and ask for details of how to modify your page.
