    Default ragdoll physics help!

I was wondering, how does one apply the physics of a "rag doll" to a flash object? I wanted to make a rag doll game, sort of like a time waster where u can fling this guy around and he will plop around.so, if anyone could please help me, you would be much appreciated.

    Hi,

This has been done in several versions. I remember the first time I saw something like this was about 3 years ago. A quick google search on "Flash ragdoll physics" should produce lots of results. In short, the method is achieved with inverse kinematics...

    hi!
thank you very much on your reply. although the page you gave me does tell me much about inverse kinematics, it does not really tell me how to make a rag doll game/program. it just gives me some formulas and script, but does not really tell me how to make it. if you could supply me with another website about this topic or how to make one, that would be great.

    Hi,

Inverse kintetics is how the Ragdoll demo in Flash was created. Using the Verlent Integral which is common in many advanced games like Hitman but works for any physics based program.....even in Flash. If you dont understand the math in the tutorial I posted, you will have a very difficult time recreating the demo. If you search the net, you can probably find a demo source .fla file to look over and modify, but if you want to learn to create something like this from scratch, you will need to fully understand the math that is in the link I posted. Here is a quick google search link that might lead to a source file if you dig through some of the links....
