Flash Fade In Text Problem

Hi All

I have created quite a complex animation, well complex for me anyways!!
However I wanted a logo and enter link to fade in at the end of the animation, if I simply stick the logo for example in a keyframe of its own and in a layer of its own, and then right click timeline effects - transition it just doesnt show up on the animation preview at all. If I double click on the instance of the logo in the timeline then do timeline effects - transition it shows up but just keeps on looping even thought the remainder of the animation is static.

I tried removing the loop by selecting play once in the properties panel, but all that does is remove my main logo which it has nothing do with????

Sorry for the long story, I have tried everything I know for the last 2 hours and pulling my hair out, any help would be fantastic.
