"play" is a-ok, but "test movie" isn't

goodday!
so, after making ten layers with ten images, using alpha 0<100% fade in/out thingie, the 'play' option under the 'control' tab works. Yet, when i use the 'test movie' option, nothing happens.
can anyone tell me what i've done wrong?

also, is there a way to crop layers in flash?

all i can think of is a flash error or a bug, try ctrl+enter (the short cut) ,

What are you fading out? text or images or movieclips or graphics, buttons?

so, i fixed the other problem;
i reloaded flash, and it worked.
now i have a new dilemna.
i am trying to take two images (graphic)
and morph one into the other.
(like breaking apart text, but with graphic).
not to fade in/out, but make the pixels re-arrange to the next image.
how do i do this?

instead of breaking the images apart try clicking on the picture then going to modify>trace image> do this on both ends of the shape tween (instead of motion select shape in porperties).
