Default Adding "embedded" video that's hosted elsewhere.

I'm putting together a flash sight that's pretty complex, and I think the only way for me to show a video from this site, is to include a hyperlink to a site that has the video embedded on it, using it's own player. (And I've posted another "help me" to get the browser sized properly) But what I'd really love to have would be an embedded player on the page. Not a Flash format player though, because it would take forever to loead, and I have a host with a limit to my site load. But I'm just wondering... just how you can embed a youtube video on an HTML page... can you on a flash page... like this one:

    http://steph.wordpress.com/2005/11/2...or-dailymotion

The example is a dailymotion video, but the question is the same I suppose. I know there's a way to publish a video IN your flash application, but that's really not an option for me. If anyone knows if it's possible to embed video supported elsewhere, please respond.

    Thanks

I'm assuming since no one has posted a reply that it's not possible... which I assumed anyway. But if it is impossible, lemme know that too. I can handle it, I swear.

    Hi,

It is possible. However, it will only work if.....

1.) You own both websites. You can allow the file to be hosted remotely with an XML cross domain policy in place.

    or

2.) You have permission from the hosted file and the host has an XML corss domain policy file in place that allows the file to be hosted remotly.

Flash has built in security that prevents hijacking a file from a remote server and using it on another website. This security feature was added with the release of FlashMX2004 and carried over to Flash8.

It will be a video file from either youtube.com or dailymotion.com. Both give the uploader (and I think every viewer) the embed code. But the embed code they have is to place on a site using HTML. If that makes sense. But copyright isn't an issue... as in the link I posted above. That girl's video is simply placed on her website, as you would place a jpeg.
