    Default Video to flash conversion

    Hi!

Firstly: I am trying to convert .mov to flash so that I can embed it into my site for web streaming. I downloaded this 'Video to Flash converter Pro' and it doesn't seem to work. Do I really need an external plug-in or can work off Flash Professional ??

Secondly:What should the total file size of a .mov be ? if it should start playing soon ?

Thirdly: What is the best way to compress a whole swf file ? other than 'save and compress' ?? Just so it doesn't waste people's time, waiting for the whole story to download...

    Please please help

    Hi,

You can import a .mov file directly into flash and produce an .swf file with the movie embedded. The .swf file can be put in any HTML page or even be called directly. I am not certain of the compression settings for video, but for audio, Flash is very good at reducing file size so I assume Flash applies the same compression techniques to video also. As to what the total file size should be for it to progressivly download correctly will take some trial and error testing with different browsers and connection settings.

Thank you very much ! I did try importing the 8 GIG movie and tested the swf. The video seem to play really well, but the audio was missing.
But as you mentioned, trial and error might get me there. Luckily i am not on a time crunch.

also you can try FlashConv, it's a worthwhile converter too. a lot of formats supported, so i think it could be useful for everyone.

  11. Default MOV to flash

You can use FFMPG to convert your mov and avi files to .flv format which is smaller in filesize and the same feature can be used for online and runtime conversion of your movies.

    Cheers!
