Making a Movable Character in Flash8?

Okay, so I've found guides that show you how to make a character move using the navigation keys, but none show how to make the character face the direction. To Clarify, I already have the movieclips of the character walking up, down, left, and right, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to code it. Please help!

So you want to be able to swap the images? There are a couple ways to go about this. If you have already found the answer, then disregard this post.

Option One, you can put every image into a single movieclip. Then you can stop on a frame in the movieclip that corresponds to the direction you need.
Option Two, you can literally swap each image out with each other using code. This will take quite a few more lines than option one, and will probably not be very efficient.

There are probably some other ways, but these are what I would call beginner steps. I won't write out the code for you, because you can probably Google search one of these options and find an ok tutorial.
