    It doesnt work. I made sure if my name of movie clip is correct (instance name of course), but still it doesn't work. The movie clip just starts playing from its beginning.

    lol. you gotta put a stop(); code inside the first frame of your movieclip, OR put movieclip_mc.stop(); in the main timeline at the very beginning.

    ^ that is incorrect.
