    Default video conversion issue

    Howdy,
my issue relates to a converted .mov file.
I am getting a brief white screen at the beginning of my converted video.
I have a .mov file that I converted into a .flv file but when I place it in my Flash file and save the movie, there is an initial, very brief period where the video is white before I start to see the video run. Other elements in the Flash file show up.
When I check the .flv file in the Adobe Media Player, the video runs and looks fine.
Is there some kind of time lag while the video is loading or is there something else that I'm missing here?
Thanks for your help in advance.

I hope I've chose the correct place to post this.

I've got a little problem converting video files.

I need to convert a .VOB file into a compressed .AVI file using a DivX or an XVid codec. I have been reccomended something called WinAVI which kind of does the job, but I cant seem to get the sound quite right.

If I specifiy the audio codec as "mpg layer 3" the audio runs out of sync with the video dramatically within minutes, and gets worse the further into the video clip you go.

Any of the other audio codecs listed seem to work OK, but then either the file size of the .avi is enourmous or it takes hours longer to convert.

Can anyone tell me where I'm going wrong? Havnt had much experience with video, and i've been on it a week.

    Hi,
Would you please explain exactly what it is your are trying to do? Are these .VOB files from a commercial DVD or video you have captured yourself?

The .vob files are indeed from a commercial DVD. However, they are from a comercial DVD we had produced and own any copyright to. There is no legal issue.

I simply need to convert the .vob's to avi's but having a problem with the sound being out of syc.
