Default Flash 5 compatibility w/ current web browsers? Flash 5 comp

Hi. I am a print designer and created a very basic Flash site with Flash 5 about 3 years ago that I use to show examples of my print work to prspecitve clients. I have been updating the site every few months, but find I have a lot of weird things going on with my site and now its completely screwy. I am wondering if it may be that my Flash 5 site is not compatible with current web browsers. If anyone cares to look at my simple, but screwy little site and let me know what they think may be going on with it, I'd greatly appreciate it. Here is the URL: home.austin.rr.com/mbdaigle

Describing what the weird and screwy things are that are causeing problems would help in suggesting a solution. I briefly visited your site and the only thing I noticed out of sorts is that you dont have a hit state in your text buttons. This allows the space in between the letters to not allow for button selection. It also helps to post the full link so that it is clickable.

Default thanks for your reply NTD...More info on my probs...read on.

NTD,

It is very slow to load, first off. It is slow to move on from one image to the next when I click on the arrows for the slide show. Alos, when I choose "illustration," instead of having illustrations slide show begin, I instead get a continuem of the slide show for the poster (above it). Also, when other buttons are selected, the slide show for that button will not appear.

If you would like to see my native Flash file, I can email that to you as a compressed file. I believe it will not be too large to email. Thank you for your time.

I'm going to post a new thread on this as well, so it doesn't get lost. Hope that doesn't annoy anyone. I am new to the forum.

Marybeth

Hi,

I revisited your site again and I am not seeing the problems you mentioned. It loads quickly for me and the images load almost instantaneously. All the buttons appear to be working, link wise. I am on an old 800mhz PC, Mellenium OS with a cable modem connection. Like I posted above, the only "problem" I see is using text as your buttons allows the mouse to move in between the letters and not allow the button to work. This will frustrate most users. In the hit state of your button, draw a rectangle over your text to act as a hit area. This will fix that problem. Another suggestions is to view your site from multiple computers, if possible. It might be a performance issue with your machine.
