Hi,
I have imported a gif animation as a ''clip symbol'' in a movie I am doing in flash mx. Then on my layout I can put the ''clip symbol'' from the library, on a new layer. When I hit ''ctrl+enter'' to test the movie in flash it works corectly, the ''clip symbol'' play over the animation I did using flash tweens and stuff.
But when I export the movie as an AVI file, or any type of file, my animation works, exept of this ''clip symbol'' wich appear, jammed at its first frame, not moving at all...
Can anyone help me out with this? This is pretty hard to explain, I wish someone understand my pain :P
Thanks!
Hi,
I rarely use flash to create .avi files so I may not be much help on this one, plus your a bit vague on your problem....
But when I export the movie as an AVI file, or any type of file, my animation works, exept of this ''clip symbol'' wich appear, jammed at its first frame, not moving at all
Could you explain this a little more. Does the movie work correctly when exported as an .swf file?

Sorry that I am too vague, this is kinda hard to explain (talking of a video inside another video :P)
Yes when I export the movie as .swf file it works. But when it is converted into another type of file, like .avi, each frames are pre-rendered and compressed, and it works fine for the major part of my animation, but for a ''gif video'' that I had imported on a new layer overall my flash animation.
I don't know why, when the video is playing in .swf all is showing correctly, but once exported as .avi, the imported ''gif video'' I was talking about is only showing its first frame all the time, like it was paused, while the background done in flash is playing.
The best way to understand my problem would be to do a simple project in flash. Like do a simple shape slide on a background with flash, and then import to your library a 'gif animation', and place it on a new layer over your 'shape slide'. Try to make it play in swf, it should work properly, but then try to export it as another video format, like avi, and you'll understand my problem ;)
What to do to make the gif plays?
Does you convert gif file into avi?Why don't you try convert good working swf to avi with flash to video encoder pro by geovid, for example? I think this program will help you.
