Graphic quality problems

When I import a .png graphic into my movie and apply an alpha fade in ,,the graphic looses it's sharpness.

I am converting the image (png) to a symbol and then I apply the fade.
When I view it as a .swf file the picture is sharp.
When I publish it and view the .html it looks terrible.
Please help.

i don't know your problem exactly, but may be i can give a thought :idea: . I usually made the dimension of png file bigger in fireworks, and scaled it down in flash.
